Social Skills Training - WRAP Programme

Social skills training supports children to think before they act, understand other people’s perspectives, communicate effectively, and use strategies for managing aggression. Research suggests that children who develop social skills and self-control are less likely to become involved in crime and violence.
We worked on a pilot project with Barnardo’s to provide social skills training to 10 schools throughout the Humber region.
Barnardo’s used Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®) for the programme. WRAP® is an evidenced-based group model that is proven to increase emotional wellbeing.
The support that schools receive from Barnardo’s can improve the mental health of a whole school community - pupils, staff and teachers alike.
