Lifestyle 2024 Winners - Patrington Champions
Patrington Champions won Lifestyle 2024 and would like to share their road safety resources, to be used by other schools and educational establishments where appropriate.
Patrington Champions Lifestyle Group 2024
Patrington Champions are made up of five 10-year-old friends from Patrington Primary Academy, who took part in Lifestyle 2024. Their mission was to raise awareness of road safety around their school. They noticed that many people were parking where they shouldn't which made them feel unsafe.
The Patrington Champions created a leaflet to encourage drivers to think more carefully about where they park so that children can walk to school
safely. The leaflet contains a map showing safe places to park while on the school run and highlights important road markings outside of the school, as well as tips and advice relating to highway codes and road safety.
In addition to this, the team created a mock parking ticket that they added to the windscreen of vehicles that weren't parking in the designated areas.
